Dream #1 — PART 2 The Dream My Grandpa Had on the Third Night

At the end of the last episode, my uncle Ryan had dug into the floor of that room and found a coffin buried underneath it.

What stayed with me more than the coffin itself was my grandpa’s reaction.

He didn’t ask what it was.

He didn’t look confused.

He just stood there staring at it, and the look on his face changed immediately.

Years later, when I was already in college, my dad finally told me what had happened in that room long before I was born.

Apparently, when the place was first given to my grandpa, people in the neighborhood already had stories about it.

Some of them flat-out called it a haunted room.

The person who had lived there before him had even given it up, even though housing was hard to come by back then.

My grandpa didn’t believe any of that.

He thought people were just scaring themselves.

So after letting the room sit empty for a few days, he and my grandma moved in.

The first two nights were normal.

On the third night, Grandpa had a dream.

In the dream, someone knocked on the door.

Nothing dramatic.

Just a regular knock.

He got up and opened it.

There was an old woman standing outside.

Grandpa later described her as strange-looking.

Her face was narrow, her mouth looked sharp, and she had heavy white makeup on with bright red color on her cheeks.

Almost like old stage makeup.

He asked her who she was looking for.

She didn’t really answer.

She just looked at him and said:

“This house is mine.”

Grandpa got irritated.

He told her the place had been assigned to him and that as far as he was concerned, it was his home now.

The woman stayed calm.

She said:

“You can live here.”

Then she added:

“But I’m here at night too.”

And then she said something even stranger:

“I don’t want to hurt anyone. If I scare you one night, don’t blame me.”

Grandpa had a temper, and instead of backing off, he argued with her.

Basically, he told her he wasn’t scared of her and dared her to come inside.

That was when her face changed.

Hair started growing across it.

Her mouth got wider.

Her head seemed to get bigger.

Within seconds, the old woman didn’t really look human anymore.

Grandpa said it looked like a huge fox’s face on a human body.

Then it opened its mouth and lunged straight at him.

Grandpa woke up instantly.

He was drenched in sweat.

My grandma woke up too, and he told her the whole dream.

She only said one thing:

“I told you we shouldn’t be staying in this room.”

Grandpa still didn’t want to leave.

As far as he was concerned, it had only been a bad dream.

So they stayed.

And then, the next night, someone really started knocking on the door.

To be continued.
