Dream #1 — PART 4 The Face Outside the Window

On Ryan’s second night in that room, sometime after 2 a.m., he woke up to the sound of something scratching against the window.

At first, he thought somebody was messing with him.

He stayed in bed for a minute.

The scratching didn’t stop.

Slow.

Steady.

Like fingernails dragging across the glass.

Ryan got up and yelled toward the window:

“Who’s out there?”

No answer.

Then, just as he got closer, a figure suddenly rose up from below the window.

It was an old woman.

But something was wrong with her face.

Ryan later told the family it didn’t look human.

Her face was covered in hair.

Her mouth was narrow and pointed.

Her head looked way too big for her body.

He said it looked more like a fox’s face attached to an old woman.

Ryan froze.

Then he stumbled backward and nearly fell.

He crawled under the bed and stayed there.

He didn’t look at the window again.

He didn’t make a sound.

But whatever was outside didn’t leave right away.

It moved around outside the room.

Sometimes it sounded like crying.

Sometimes like yelling.

Ryan said it went on for around twenty minutes.

He stayed under the bed until after four in the morning.

As soon as he thought it was safe, he got out and went straight back to my grandparents’ place.

The second Grandpa saw his face, he knew something had happened.

Ryan told them what he had seen.

He said:

“That wasn’t a normal old woman.”

“She had a fox face.”

Then he started describing her.

Huge head.

Hair all over her face.

A pointed mouth.

Small body.

The room went quiet.

Because the details were almost exactly the same as the woman Grandpa had seen in his dream years earlier.

And according to the family, Ryan had never been told the full details of that dream.

Grandpa assumed that would finally be enough to make him give up on the room.

It wasn’t.

Ryan was the kind of person who got more stubborn when something scared him.

Instead of moving out, he started asking around for someone who might actually know what was going on.

A few days later, he found an older man in his fifties who agreed to come look at the place.

The man walked around the room for a while.

Then he pulled Ryan aside and said one thing:

“There’s something buried under this house.”

To be continued.
