Dream #1 — PART 5 What Was Buried Under the Room

My uncle Ryan ended up finding an older man in his fifties who agreed to come look at the room.

He wasn’t some famous paranormal expert.

From what my family told me, he was just a regular factory worker who happened to know a lot about strange things.

I wasn’t there for this part myself, so everything I know came from Ryan and my dad later.

The man walked around the room for a while, looked at the floor, the walls, the windows, then pulled Ryan aside.

He told him:

“There’s something buried under this place.”

Ryan thought he was kidding.

The man said he wasn’t.

He told Ryan that something had probably been sealed underground a long time ago, and that the room had later been built over it.

According to him, whatever was down there had been trapped inside some kind of container.

And as long as it stayed there, the room would keep having problems.

Ryan asked him what he thought it was.

The answer sounded ridiculous.

The man said it might have been a fox.

Not just a normal animal, but something people used to believe could change over time and become something else.

Ryan told us later that he only half believed any of this.

But after seeing that thing outside the window, he also wasn’t laughing anymore.

The man told him there was only one way to find out.

Dig.

So Ryan started tearing into the floor.

He borrowed tools and worked on it during the day.

He refused to stay in that room after dark.

He dug for two days.

Then one afternoon, his shovel hit something hard.

At first, he thought it was stone.

He cleared away more dirt.

There was some kind of solid outer layer around it.

Ryan said it looked like concrete or stone.

Under that was wood.

A wooden box.

He kept clearing the dirt away.

Then he realized what it was.

A coffin.

Smaller than a normal adult coffin, but still large enough that there was no mistaking it.

And the weirdest part was that it looked like someone had gone out of their way to seal it inside another layer.

Like whatever was in there was never supposed to come out.

Ryan stopped digging.

That was the moment he finally believed the old man.

He called him right away.

The man came back, looked down at the coffin, and according to Ryan, he didn’t seem surprised at all.

He only told him one thing:

“Don’t open it.”

Then he said they needed to get it out of there.

Carefully.

To be continued.
